Treatment for Chronic Sinus Infection

treatment-for-sinusitis

If you have Chronic Sinus Infection, you may become frustrated with treatment. You can spend weeks or months going back and forth to your doctor, only to be prescribed a medication that will only bring you temporary relief. Antibiotics and nasal steroid sprays can temporarily reduce swelling and relieve obstructions in the sinus cavity, but results will only be temporary. Until now, the only effective surgical procedure to treat Chronic Sinus Infection was called Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, a procedure that involved using tools to remove bone and tissue in the nose to allow fluids in the sinus cavity to drain. Fortunately, a less-invasive technology is now available. In this procedure, called, Balloon Sinuplasty, a balloon catheter is delivered to the blocked passageway and is gently inflated to widen the opening of the nasal passage, allowing fluid to drain, and giving you relief from pain and pressure.
